Join us for a Juneteenth Celebration in Lowell, a celebration commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in Texas in 1865, on June 19th.   This is our history, this is your history, this is American history.  On Saturday, 14 June 2025, there will be a daylong, in person, “Watch Party” featuring various movies and documentaries surrounding the occasion, refreshments will be available. On Wed, 18 June 2025 there will be a Flag Raising program at Lowell City Hall starting at 11am. On Thursday, 19 June 2025, there will be a community conversation entitled, “Reentering the Conversation” where we will respectfully discuss Juneteenth and current topics as it relates to the progress from then until now.  Stay tuned for updates as we solidify the details for these events.
